With an aim to ensure the business runs, even during these tough times, some restaurants in Mumbai are offering delivery services and keeping the kitchens open. On Tuesday, May 20, one of the members of The Bombay Canteen, Mumbai's popular restaurant, reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.

While other staff members are being tested for precautionary reasons, the team is also tracing guests and customers who were served during the period through delivery services. Mandatory steps are being followed as per the protocol.

The team issued a statement which said that the member was asymptomatic for COVID-19 on May 19, 2020, and said, "The past few months have been unprecedented for all of us. We have worked hard to serve the community safely with food deliveries during this time. We deeply regret to inform our guests, associates, and delivery partners that a team member has tested asymptomatic for COVID-19 on May 19th, 2020. We are taking all necessary precautions - our delivery kitchen will be closed until further notice for complete sanitisation and thorough deep cleaning, the team will be self-isolating for the stipulated period, and we're making sure everyone is getting tested. We are also reaching out to guests and associates who have ordered from us or interacted with us since this team member joined work last Monday, so that they may take necessary precautions as per existing medical protocols."

Back in April 2020, renowned celebrity chef, Floyd Cardoz, who was the Culinary Director of The Bombay Canteen, passed away due to coronavirus infection. He visited India in February to celebrate the anniversary of their venture and also launch another food retail unit called the Bombay Sweet Shop. Upon returning to the US, he tested positive and was being treated at a hospital in New Jersey.

Besides this, another Mumbai-based restaurant 'Yauatcha' also stopped home delivery as one of their team members tests positive for coronavirus. The team at KA Hospitality took to Instagram to share the news and said that they were currently tracing and identifying customers and delivery staff as orders were delivered in many areas between Colaba and Andheri.
