The rains have finally arrived and its warm, comforting food that ‘floats your boat’ during the gloomy monsoon days. What better place than The Fatty Bao to shelter from the downpour and indulge in piping, hot ramens and soupy noodles, delicious steaming dim sums and crisp spicy fried appetisers.

From Chicken Dumpling with Smoked Tofu and Kimchi enveloped in translucent wrappers and steamed, to Blue Butterfly Pea Flower Dumpling with fresh avocado and Philadelphia cream cheese and Cuttlefish, Prawn and Red Jalapenos Dim Sum- their dim sum offering this season will be your perfect dinner starter. Add Fried Prawn and Garlic Roll with garlic and chives to go with their heady libations – and they have the perfect party starter. And finally, the warm, comforting bowl of Ramen or Soupy Noodle and you’ll drive those monsoon blues far away!


The fried appetisers are the perfect start to your meal while Dim Sums are the best accompaniment to a cocktail or a cup of aromatic, green tea. Order a Roast Duck Meat Roll with barbecue roast duck, scallion and cucumber or a portion of Roasted Aubergine Parcels with pan roasted aubergine, scallion, garlic and ginger  and the Fried Prawn and Garlic Roll – all served with their signature spicy house made chilli sauce, hoisin chilli sauce and smoked eggplant miso butter sauce.

A variety of interesting, new dim sums make an appearance on their monsoon menu. Try the Fresh Kale and Mixed Vegetables Dumplings – fresh kale and mixed vegetables wrapped in translucent wrappers and steamed, Minced Lamb and Swiss Chard Dumpling with ginger, black pepper, corn and soy; Cuttlefish, Prawn and Red Jalapeno Dim Sum and fresh Yam Bean and Lotus Root and Pumpkin Seeds, Chestnut Dumpling and Chicken Dumpling with Smoked Tofu and Kimchi.
