Navi Mumbai logs 112 new COVID-19 cases, while Panvel records 93

A total of 112 new COVID-19 patients were found in Navi Mumbai and 93 in Panvel on Thursday.

Navi Mumbai reported of 112 positive COVID-19 Thursday. The addition of these new cases pushed the count of COVID-19 patients in this area to 45,143. 27 new patients were found in Belapur, 18 in Nerul, 19 in Vashi, 10 in Turbhe, 16 in Koparkhairane, 7 in Ghansoli, 11 in Airoli and 4 in Digha. In a day, 166 people have been cured while in Belapur 41, Nerul 21, Vashi 19, Turbhe 22, Koparkhairane 24, Ghansoli 13, Airoli 11, Digha 51 patients have been cured.

The total number of cured patients is 42,697 while the death toll has risen to 915 in the city, including 2 more fatalities that were recorded on Thursday. At present 1,531 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. The recovery rate is 94 per cent.

Coming over to Panvel, 93 positive patients were found in Panvel municipal area on Thursday and 72 patients have been discharged from the hospital after recovering. Among them, new patients found in Panvel municipal area are 10 from Panvel, 10 from New Panvel, 2 from Khandha Colony, 3 from Kalamboli, 44 from Kamothe, 23 from Kharghar and 1 from Taloja while 6 from Panvel, 14 from New Panvel, 15 from Kalamboli, 13 from Kamothe, 21 from Kharghar and 3 from Taloja are cured. Out of the total 23,900 coronavirus patients registered in Panvel Municipal Corporation till date 22,677 patients have recovered and returned home with the addition of 556 fatalities. At present, there are 667 active patients of Corona in Panvel Municipal Corporation. 

According to Swachh Survey 2021, housing societies which are generating more than 100 kg of wet waste per day should implement composting projects in their premises. Yashodip Society - Sector 22, C Queen Society - Sector 14, Siddhivinayak Society, Sector 05 at Koparkhairane, Deputy Commissioner Babasaheb Rajale and Chief Sanitation Officer Rajendra Sonawane visited and provided guidance on waste sorting and compost. Sanitation Officer Dinesh Waghulde, Sanitation Inspector and Deputy Sanitation Inspector were also present at the spot.
