The third phase of COVID-19 vaccination in India commenced on Monday, March 1, covering people over 60 and above. Even those above the age of 45 years with comorbidities are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccines.
On Thursday, 13 private hospitals in Mumbai joined the programme. Out of 29, these 13 have been given a go-ahead permission by the Centre to start the vaccination drive. These hospitals can administer 7,000 to 8,000 doses every day.

Apart from 13 private hospitals, six Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS)-empanelled hospitals also joined the drive on Thursday. As per reports, together, the 19 hospitals vaccinated over 4,000 people on Thursday while the BMC centres gave 18,000 jabs.

We’ve vaccinated about 190 senior citizens and those between the age group of 45-59 yrs today, an encouraging response indeed. Every COVID vaccination is a step towards slowing the spread of the Coronavirus infection".

What documents are required for COVID-19 vaccination?
For those who are aged above 45 years and are comorbid, they will have to upload a medical certificate, mentioning their comorbid condition. People who are above the age of 60, need to carry their Aadhaar card or voter ID card or a photo ID card for the vaccination process.
