Panvel logs 26 new COVID-19 cases on December 23

Panvel reported 26 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 27,206 while 26 people have completely recovered on Wednesday, December 23. In total 26,274 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 595. At present, there are 337 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are four from Panvel, two from New Panvel, one from Khanda Colony, six from Kalamboli, two from Kamothe and 11 from Kharghar. While the recovered patients are six from Panvel, six from New Panvel, two from Kalamboli, five from Kamothe, six from Kharghar and one from Taloja.

On Wednesday, 25 new cases were found in Belapur, 15 in Nerul, four in Vashi, nine in Turbhe, 14 in Koparkhairane, 15 in Ghansoli, eight in Airoli and three in Digha

While, the recovered patients are 19 from Belapur, 16 from Nerul, 17 from Vashi, nine from Turbhe, five from Koparkhairane, two from Ghansoli, eight from Airoli and five from Digha.

On Wednesday, December 23, Maharashtra recorded 3,913 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,06317. Currently, there are 54,573 active cases in the state. With 7,620 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18.01,700.

With the outbreak of the coronavirus, 93 people have lost their lives a total of 48,969 people in the state have died owing to the contagious disease. While 4,88,723 persons are under home quarantine, 3,420 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.51 per cent, and 2.57 per cent respectively. 1,22,78,476 tests have been conducted in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, India reported 24,712 new cases, 29,791 recoveries and 312 deaths taking the tally up to 1,01,23,778 on Wednesday, December 23. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 96,93,173 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,46,756 in the country. At present, there are 2,83,849 active cases. According to the ICMR, 16,53,08,366 samples have been tested up to December 23.
