26 new COVID-19 cases were found in Mira-Bhayander taking the caseload up to 25,293 while the death toll stands at 783.

Mira-Bhayandar reported 26 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 25,293 on Sunday, December 27. According to Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), 19 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. No death has been registered in Mira-Bhayandar. So far, 24,155 have a complete recovery. The death toll stands at 783.

Out of these new cases, four cases is from Bhayandar East, one from Bhayandar West and 21 from Mira Road have been reported.

On Sunday, December 27, Maharashtra recorded 3,314 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,19,550. Currently, there are 59,214 active cases in the state. With 2,124 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,09,948.

With the outbreak of the coronavirus, 66 people have lost their lives a total of 49,255 people in the state have died owing to the contagious disease. While 4,57,385 persons are under home quarantine, 3,323 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.29 per cent, and 2.57 per cent respectively. So far, 1,25,02,554 tests have been conducted in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, India reported 20,021 new cases, 21,131 recoveries and 279 deaths taking the tally up to 1,02,07,871 on Sunday, December 27. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 97,82,669 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,47,901 in the country. At present, there are 2,77,301 active cases. According to the ICMR, 16,88,18,054 samples have been tested up to December 21.
