Apart from water-borne diseases such as jaundice and typhoid, food-borne diseases also pose a serious threat. It is essential to take utmost care during the rainy season by drinking boiled water, frequent hand washing, and avoiding roadside food.

According to a data revealed by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC), 27 cases of Malaria were registered in the city in June 2022.

Meanwhile, among 40 suspected dengue patients not even a single patient with a definite diagnosis was found.

The civic body inspected around 31,427 homes under the TMC, in which, 307 homes were contaminated and 41,004 numbers of containers were inspected, in which, 359 containers were found to be contaminated, informed the health officials of the Thane civic body health department.

During the month of June in order to avoid dengue, malaria and other water borne diseases, the TMC with the help of 50 handpumps, 10 tractors, 6 e-rickshaw, 10 bolero vehicles sprayed drugs at 2,194 places in Thane district in two sessions while fumigation was carried out with the help of hand machine at 14,765 places in Thane district, said civic official.

On the other hand, in the month of June, more than 450 gastro cases were reported across Mumbai.
