27 new COVID-19 cases were found in Panvel municipal area while 31 people have completely recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Panvel reported 27 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 28,360 while 31 people have completely recovered on Tuesday, January 19. In total 27,370 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 619. At present, there are 371 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are five from Panvel, five from New Panvel, 10 from Khanda Colony, two from Kamothe and five from Kharghar. While the recovered patients are nine from Panvel, one from New Panvel, four from Kalamboli, nine from Kamothe and eight from Kharghar.

On Tuesday, January 19, Maharashtra recorded 2,294 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,94,977. Currently, there are 48,406 active cases in the state. With 4,516 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,94,839.

More than 50 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,523. While 2,18,058 persons are under home quarantine, 1,996 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.98 per cent, and 2.53 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 13,823 new cases, 16,988 recoveries and 162 deaths taking the tally up to 1,05,95,660 on Tuesday, January 19. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,02,45,741 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,52,718 in the country. At present, there are 1,97,201 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,85,66,947 samples have been tested up to January 19. So far 6,74,835 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
