Panvel records 28 new COVID-19 cases; three deaths

Panvel reported 28 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 26,957 while 38 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. In addition to this, three deaths have been registered in Panvel municipal area on Thursday (December 17). In total 26,072 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 590. At present, there are 295 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are three from Panvel, three from New Panvel, one from Khanda Colony, four from Kalamboli, five from Kamothe, 11 from Kharghar and one from Taloja. While the recovered patients are seven from Panvel, one from New Panvel, four from Kalamboli, 12 from Kamothe and 14 from Kharghar.

Maharashtra reported 3,880 new COVID-19 cases, 4,358 recoveries and 65 deaths on Thursday (December 17), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,84,773 There are 60,905 active cases in the state and 17,74,255 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 48,499 in Maharashtra.

The states recovery rate is 94.14 per cent, while the mortality rate is 2.57 per cent. Currently, 4,033 people are institutional quarantine and 5,06,914 are home quarantine.

Meanwhile, India reported 22,889 new COVID-19 cases, 31,087 recoveries and 338 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 99,79,447 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday (December 17). While in total 95,20,827 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,44,789 in the country. At present, there are 3,13,831 active cases. According to the ICMR, 15,89,18,646 samples have been tested up to December 17.
