Mira-Bhayandar reported 30 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 25,358 on Tuesday, December 29. According to Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), 40 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. No death has been registered in Mira-Bhayandar. So far, 24,230 have a complete recovery. The death toll stands at 783.

Out of these new cases, one case is from Bhayandar East, two from Bhayandar West and 27 from Mira Road have been reported.

On Tuesday, December 29, Maharashtra recorded 3,018 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,25,066. Currently, there are 54,537 active cases in the state. With 5,572 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,20,021.

68 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and the total death toll now stands at 49,373. While 2,89,560 persons are under home quarantine, 3,204 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.54 per cent, and 2.56 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 20,550 new cases, 36,572 recoveries and 286 deaths taking the tally up to 1,02,44,853 on Tuesday, December 29. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 98,34,141 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,48,439 in the country. At present, there are 2,62,272 active cases. According to the ICMR, 17,09,22,030 samples have been tested up to December 29.
