As the temperature is increasing day by day, the citizens are suffering from heat stroke. Due to increasing heat, skin related diseases have started to occur in the citizens. Sweating, boils, rash, itching and fungal diseases are happening to the citizens, and the patients of these diseases have increased by about 30 percent in the last few days.


Every year citizens get skin diseases due to sweat during summer days. The temperature has been increasing significantly in the state including Mumbai for the past few days. Many people have suffered from heat stroke due to rising temperatures. But at the same time citizens are also facing skin diseases. Compared to the previous two years, it has been observed that there has been an increase in the number of vitiligo patients this year.


Citizens were not leaving their homes due to Corona. So they did not get many skin related diseases during summer. But this time due to increasing heat, the citizens are suffering on a large scale. Since the beginning of the month of April, the number of skin related diseases like sweats, boils, fungal diseases, itching, and rashes have increased. Dr. Vinayak Sawardekar, Medical Superintendent of St. George's Hospital informed that the patients of these diseases have increased by about 30 percent within a month.

Due to the extreme heat, the body sweats a lot. As this sweat accumulates on the body, the olfactory organs on the skin are blocked. If the olfactory organs are not cleaned with water in time, skin disorders begin to occur. Due to rising temperatures in Mumbai, citizens are sweating profusely. There has been an increase in the number of patients with skin disorders due to sweating since last month. The doctors of the dermatology department of JJ Hospital informed that the number of patients with fungal diseases, sweats and boils is more.


Tips to take care 

  • Bathe with plain water twice a day 
  • If bathing is not possible, wipe the body with a wet cloth
  • Regular dusting powder should be used
  • Dusting powder should be applied on the place where sweat occurs continuously
