33 new COVID-19 cases were found in Panvel municipal area while 35 people are completely recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Panvel reported 33 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 26,929 on Wednesday (December 16) while 35 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. In total 26.034 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 587. At present, there are 308 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are five from Panvel, six from New Panvel, four from Khanda Colony, four from Kalamboli, nine from Kamothe and six from Kharghar and one from Taloja. While the recovered patients are seven from Panvel, five from New Panvel, three from Kalamboli and seven from Kamothe, 10 from Kharghar and one from Taloja.

Maharashtra reported 4,304 new COVID-19 cases, 4,678  recoveries and 95 deaths on Wednesday (December 16), taking the total number of cases in the state to 18,80,893. There are 61,454 active cases in the state and 17,69,897 patients have recovered so far. The death toll is at 48,434 in Maharashtra. In total 1,18,71,449 people have been tested in Maharashtra.

Meanwhile, India reported 24,010 new COVID-19 cases, 33,291 recoveries and 355 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the tally up to 99,56,558 according to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday (December 16). While in total 94,89,740 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,44,451 in the country. At present, there are 3,22,366 active cases. According to the ICMR, 15,78,05,240 samples have been tested up to December 16.
