Mira-Bhayandar reported 36 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 25,135 on Tuesday, December 22. According to Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), 35 people have completely recovered in the last 24 hours. Two deaths have been registered in Mira-Bhayandar. So far, 24,019 have a complete recovery. The death toll stands at 781.

Out of these new cases, four cases is from Bhayandar East, seven from Bhayandar West and 25 from Mira Road have been reported.

On Tuesday, December 22, Maharashtra recorded 3,106 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,02,458. Currently, there are 58,376 active cases in the state. With 4,122 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 17,94,080.

75 people have lost their lives in the state in the last 24 hours taking the total to 48,876. While 4,94,815 persons are under home quarantine, 3,660 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.3 per cent, and 2.57 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 23,950 new cases, 26,895 recoveries and 333 deaths taking the tally up to 1,00,99,066 on Tuesday, December 22. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 96,63,382 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,46,444 in the country. At present, there are 2,89,240 active cases. According to the ICMR, 16,42,68,721 samples have been tested up to December 22.
