As part of the daily updates released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 479 patients tested positive for coronavirus in the Greater Mumbai area. The number of patients who recovered and were discharged was higher than the earlier at 481. Additionally, the total number of active progressive patients in the city are 4667.

Apart from this, 5 people lost their lives to COVID-19 on Sunday, 4 of whom had comorbidities. While 4 were male, 1 was female and all the 5 deaths were over the age of 60. Similarly, the total number of tests done were 39198.

Considering these updates in numbers, the recovery rate of Mumbai is now at 97%, whilst the overall growth rate of COVID-19 cases from September 19 to 25, 2021 is 0.06%. The doubling rate, on the other hand, stands at 1208 days.

Additionally, based on the containment measures taken on September 25, 2021, there are zero active containment zones in the city. The active sealed buildings though are 51. Contact tracing has been an invaluable part of the civic authority’s battle against the virus, in regards to it, in the past 24 hours, high-risk contact tracing undertaken is at 2,989.
