Navi Mumbai reported 48 COVID-19 cases on Friday, January 22 talking the tally up to 52,477. While 50,591people have made a complete recovery from this disease, two deaths have been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,080. At present, 806 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Friday, nine new cases were found in Belapur, eight in Nerul, eight in Vashi, three in Turbhe, four in Koparkhairane, one in Ghansoli, 14 in Airoli and one from Digha.

While, the recovered patients are 11 from Belapur, 19 from Nerul, eight from Vashi, five from Turbhe, nine from Koparkhairane, six from Ghansoli and six from Airoli.

On Friday, January 22, Maharashtra recorded 2,779 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,03,657. Currently, there are 44,926 active cases in the state. With 3,419 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,06,827.

More than 50 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,684. While 2,13,414 persons are under home quarantine, 2,019 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.17 per cent, and 2.53 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 14,256 new cases, 17,130 recoveries and 152 deaths taking the tally up to 1,06,39,684 on Friday, January 22. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 10,300,838 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,53,184 in the country. At present, there are 1,85,662 active cases. According to the ICMR, 19,09,85,119 samples have been tested up to January 22. So far, 13,90,592 health workers have been vaccinated in the country.
