Navi Mumbai reported 56 COVID-19 cases on Monday, January 4 talking the tally up to 51,316. While 49,347 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, one death has been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,060. At present, 909 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Monday, seven new cases were found in Belapur, seven in Nerul, eight in Vashi, 13 in Turbhe, five in Koparkhairane, four in Ghansoli and 12 in Airoli.

While, the recovered patients are 25 from Belapur, nine from Nerul, seven from Vashi, four from Turbhe, seven from Koparkhairane, six from Ghansoli, six from Airoli and four from Digha.

On Monday, January 4, Maharashtra recorded 2,765 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,47,011. Currently, there are 48,801 active cases in the state. With 10,362 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,47,361.

29 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total death count in Maharashtra stands at 49,695. While 2,41,728 persons are under home quarantine, 3,078 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.88 per cent, and 2.55 per cent respectively. With 46,374 new tests, the total number of samples tested for coronavirus in Maharashtra has gone up to 1,30,04,876.

Meanwhile, India reported 16,375 new cases, 29,091 recoveries and 201 deaths taking the tally up to 1,03,56,845 on Monday, January 4. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 99,75,958 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,49,850 in the country. At present, there are 2,31,036 active cases. According to the ICMR, 17,65,31,997 samples have been tested up to January 4.
