Coronavirus Daily Update: Mumbai's case load jumps 500-mark after 2 days, Maharashtra count past 8,000

According to reports, the daily infections in Maharashtra have remained above the 7,000-mark in the last two days with 7,603 new cases on Monday (July 12) and 7,243 new cases on Tuesday (July 13).

After witnessing less than 500 coronavirus cases for two days in a row, Mumbai on Wednesday, July 14, reported 635 infections, according to the data revealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The city also reported 10 fresh fatalities on the same day.

With this, the COVID-19 caseload in the country's financial capital rose to 7,29,250 and death count to 15,654.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra has reported more than 8,000 fresh cases on Wednesday, July 14.

With 8,602 new cases of the COVID-19, Maharashtra’s tally reached 61,81,247 cases so far. The state saw a marginal drop in the fatality rate as 170 people succumbed to the illness in the previous 24 hours, taking the state’s death toll to 1,26,390.

According to reports, the daily infections in Maharashtra have remained above the 7,000-mark in the last two days with 7,603 new cases on Monday (July 12) and 7,243 new cases on Tuesday (July 13).

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) reported 1,801 cases, including Mumbai. Kalyan-Dombivli saw 141 fresh infections, while Raigad reported 369 cases, the most in MMR.

Thane, Navi Mumbai and Vasai-Virar reported 97, 123 and 115 new cases, respectively. Nearly 21 people died in MMR, excluding Mumbai. Whereas 10 people lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Vasai-Virar area.

Raigad reported eight deaths, Palghar, Mira-Bhayandar and Kalyan-Dombivli each saw one death.
