Mumbai has a large number of breeding sites for Aedes mosquitoes. Minister Uday Samant said in the Legislative Council that action is being taken to eliminate it and measures to prevent dengue are being taken across the state. Samant said that last year there were 14 deaths due to dengue through the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Public awareness is being continuously created about dengue disease. Last year, 1 lakh 31 thousand 980 breeding sites of Aedes mosquitoes were destroyed. 


So far this year, 43,428 breeding sites of Aedes mosquitoes have been eliminated. Spraying of pesticides has also been done. Apart from this, a dengue outbreak is being seen in the entire state. For this, the state public health department is also taking measures to prevent dengue.

It has come to light that the spread of Zika virus is increasing in Pune district. Vice President Dr. Neelam Gore advised the government to take immediate steps accordingly. Minister Uday Samant said that the local administration will be ordered to take appropriate action.
