According to the latest reports, the Ministry of Health has stated that COVID-19 precaution doses will now be available to those over the age of 18 from Sunday, April 10 at private vaccination centres.

The eligibility criteria for the same remarks that apart from being over the age of 18, they should have finished nine months post the administration of the second dose. Those who fulfil these conditions will be eligible for the booster shot at private vaccination centres. 

On the other hand, the present free inoculation program through government vaccination centres for the administration of the first and second jab to those eligible and the booster doses to healthcare workers, frontline workers and those over the age of 60 would continue and will be accelerated. 

In accordance with a press release issued, nearly 96 per cent of all those above the age of 15 in India have attained at least one vaccine against coronavirus. On the other hand, almost 83 per cent of those over 15 years of age have received both shots. 

Moreover, over 2.4 crore booster doses have been administered to healthcare, frontline workers as well as those over the age of 60. It has been reported that 45 per cent of 12-14 years of age have also attained the first dose.
