SHARES

Powai- 66 years old Renuka Mehra is confined to this wheel chair since she is diagnosed with dementia. Day by day her body movements were restricted. Her daughter in law Nitika tried to look after her along with father in law P. N Mehra but her work schedules made it difficult. And then she got a helping hand in Charulata Shinde a 39 year old care giver by care 24 who has stepped in to care for Renuka Mehra with compassion and efficiency. Care 24 is one of India’s first few start-ups to set up a one-point solution for patient care at home that is available for anyone who seeks specialized care beyond the hospital or for chronic long term illnesses. This set up provides employment opportunities to 1200 paramedical/attendants in and around Mumbai providing them intensive training. Care 24 keeps track of the care giver and the patient’s relationship by receiving constant feedback and surprise visits. This service is a beautiful example of weaving need with social concern. This service is available on android app as well.
