Panvel reported 43 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally up to 28,006 while 68 people have completely recovered on Sunday, January 10. In total 26,938 have recovered and discharged while the death toll in Panvel is at 612. At present, there are 456 active cases in Panvel Municipal Corporation.

Among the new cases found in Panvel municipal area are eight from Panvel, one from New Panvel, two from Khanda Colony, six from Kalamboli, eight from Kamothe and 18 from Kharghar. While the recovered patients are 10 from Panvel, 18 from New Panvel, four from Kalamboli, 15 from Kamothe and 21 from Kharghar.

On Sunday, January 10, Maharashtra recorded 3,558 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 19,69,114. Currently, there are 54,179 active cases in the state. With 2,302 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 18,63,702.

More than 34 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 50,061. While 2,34,845 persons are under home quarantine, 2,453 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.65 per cent, and 2.54 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 16,311 new cases, 19,299 recoveries and 161 deaths taking the tally up to 1,04,66,595 on Sunday, January 10. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,00,92,909 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,51,160 in the country. At present, there are 2,22,526 active cases. According to the ICMR, 18,17,55,831 samples have been tested up to January 10.
