Maharashtra recorded 11,514 fresh COVID-19 cases on Thursday, taking its total caseload to 4,79,779. About 316 patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, which has taken the death toll to 16,792 in the state. As per the state health department, 3,16,375 have recovered from the infection and there are currently 1,46,305 active patients in the state. 

The state’s capital city Mumbai reported 910 fresh coronavirus cases on Thursday, taking the total tally of the city to 1,20,165. With 57 new deaths, the fatality toll has now reached 6,645 in the city. On Thursday, the slum clusters of Dharavi reported eight new positive cases, taking the total tally to 2,597. 

According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dharavi currently has only 82 active cases and the number of recovered patients has gone up to 2,257. As per the data provided by the civic body, there are about 20,562 active cases and about 92,661 total recoveries in Mumbai.  

With 1,440 new COVID-19 cases reported on Thursday, the total caseload of Pune city has reached 62,037. The city witnessed 27 new deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the fatality toll to 1,456. 

On Thursday, Nashik district crossed the 18,000 mark as it recorded 737 new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases in the district has gone up to 18,444 and with 31 more fatalities in the last 24 hours, the total death toll has reached 578. 

Meanwhile, Nagpur district recorded its single-day spike with 539 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 7,291. At least 25 infected patients succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 229 in the region.
