COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra surpass 1.86 lakh, 6,330 new cases recorded on Thursday

Maharashtra on Thursday recorded more than 1.86 lakh cases with 6,330 new cases. The death toll in Maharashtra has reached to 8,178.

The health minister of Maharashtra, Rajesh Tope had tweeted on Thursday regarding the active number of cases in the state which is 77,260. 8,018 patients were cured which took the total number of cured patients to 1,01,172.

According to the data shared by Municipal Corporation Greater Mumbai on Thursday, there were a total of 57 deaths reported in Mumbai in the last 48 hours. Four deaths were of people below the age of 40 years thirty-four deaths were of people above the age of 60 years and nineteen were of people between the age of 40 to 60 years. The recovery rate of Mumbai has gone up to 63 per cent from 57 per cent. The doubling rate in Mumbai is 41 days.

The active number of containment zones in Mumbai including slums and chawls is 754 and the active number of sealed buildings is 6,253.

Complete lockdown of 10 days has been imposed in Thane, Kalyan and Mira Bhayandar in order to contain the spread of the COVID-19. People are allowed to go out only to buy essentials within the radius of 2km from where they live.  If people are found venturing out on their vehicles without any reason, their vehicles will be confiscated. Section 144 has also been imposed in Mumbai in order to avoid large gatherings.

For the first time in years, this year Mumbai’s famous Lalbaughcha Raja stands cancelled due to COVID-19 during those 11 days a blood and plasma donation camp will be set up. In place of Lord Ganesh’s idol. The Ganeshotav Mandal decided.

The total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 6,25,544 in India and the death toll rises to 18,213.
