In a worrying news, Mumbai has seen a gradual spike in the COVID-19 cases again.
As per data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), it has recorded a 206 per cent rise in active coronavirus cases in past 14 days. While BMC reported 47 active cases on March 1, the number was increased to 144 active cases on March 14.
On March 6, the city recorded seven cases, which increased to 14 the next day.
On March 8, the figure dropped to seven cases, but increased to 18 the next day.
The number of cases further increased to 21 on March 10 and 25 on March 11 and dropped to 18 again on March 12.
In the last 24 hours, the number of cases doubled in Mumbai. The BMC, however, attributed this to a rise in the number of tests being conducted amid the city reporting cases of influenza.
