Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in the city of Mumbai and nearby areas have reduced significantly. The state government and the respective civic bodies have been organizing vaccination drives across the city for every citizen to be vaccinated for the virus. To ensure the citizens in villages get vaccinated, the Mumbai North Central District Forum (MNCDF) recently organized a vaccinated drive for over 500 tribals living across several villages in Palghar district.

Vaccine hesitancy has been noticed especially in tribal and remote localities of Maharashtra, and the association has been organizing the same over the last few months. As per reports, this is third such vaccination drive organized for the tribal people and was conducted in association with SBI who sponsored the vaccines, Nanavati Max Hospital which helped in administering the same and Healing Salve which managed the technical expertise needed for the drive.

Officials also raised awareness among the citizens to ensure they take vaccines as directed by the government and avoid hesitating for the same.

Banners were installed in regional languages to inform the citizens about the vaccination camps and heads from different villages were also asked to support by spreading the word about free vaccination drive. Vaccines were administered free of cost and were given to both who were getting first dose and second dose. Another camp will be set up for second vaccination for those who have been given the first COVID vaccine.
