According to the latest study in the UK, the citizens who have received both the jabs of their coronavirus vaccine are three times less likely to contract COVID-19 again.

Earlier on Wednesday, August 4, the Real-time Assessment of Community Transmission (REACT-1) study, one of Britain's largest studies into coronavirus infections in the country, said that infections in England have increased four-fold from 0.15 per cent to 0.63 per cent since the last REACT-1 report, which covered the period from May 20 to June 7.

Meanwhile, the health department of the UK has now expanded its COVID-19 vaccination programme to everyone aged 16 and over, from the current 18 and over, after formal scientific advice in favour of younger age cohorts.

On the other hand, Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are being administered in Mumbai over the last few months and several citizens above the age of 18 have been vaccinated across several centres in the city. Maharashtra also has the most number of vaccines administered by any state in India.

The report released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed that over one crore doses have been administered in the city in just a month, and this achievement was noted for the first time. Over one lakh Mumbaikars were vaccinated on a single day in Mumbai Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 426 centres. Out of the 1,01,903 citizens, over 70,000 were vaccinated at centres operated by BMC.
