Mumbai- The municipal corporation used up Rs. 8 crore for its dengue awareness programme, and yet 31 people in the city lost their lives to the dreadful disease this year.
RTI activist Anil Galgali had asked for the information which revealed these disheartening facts. BMC had spent Rs. 2.98 crore on the dengue awareness programme in the years 2013-14 and 2014-15. Despite this, 11 people lost their lives in 2013, 12 in 2014 and 8 people lost their lives in 2015. Are the BMC's efforts coming to nought?
