Organ donation is considered to be very precious because it involves saving others' lives. One such donation was done by 64-year-old Dinesh Mehta who continued helping others after his death as well.

Deceased Dinesh Mehta saved six lives by donating his vital organs i.e. kidney, eyes, skin, and liver.

Wadala resident 64-year-old Dinesh Mehta was known as a social activist, and he suffered from high blood pressure. On June 21, 2018, his health deteriorated after which he was admitted to a local hospital. After a preliminary inspection, he was moved to Parel’s Global Hospital where doctors declared him brain dead after reading his CT scan and other reports.

Mehta passed away on June 23, 2018, on his son Sameer’s birthday. Though he was shaken by his father’s death, he decided to donate his organs. Likewise, he donated his father’s kidney to two different patients, eyes to two people and skin and liver as well.

He always used to help the underprivileged either by giving them money or paying children's school fees. He loved helping people who were in need. He had told me once that he wishes to continue helping people post his death. Hence, we decided to donate his organs,” Sameer Mehta, Son.
