NMMC begins drive-in vaccination initiative for citizens above 45 years of age

As per reports, a total of 146 citizens were vaccinated until 5 pm, of which 80 were at Seawoods' Grand Central Mall and 66 at Inorbit Mall in Vashi

With an aim to offer ease during vaccination, thee Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), on May 6, 2021, started an innovative initiative called Drive-in Vaccination for the benefit of the citizens. As per reports, the plan was made to make easier for the citizens above 45 years of age, especially senior citizens and the disabled. 

This move was appreciated by the citizens who expressed satisfaction as they can get vaccinated comfortably while sitting in the car. With the expansion of Vaccination Centers, NMMC is also focused towards providing various facilities to the citizens so that they can get vaccinated without any effort and this move is a part of it. 

The first day of the drive-in vaccination started at 1 pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021, whereby the citizens showed enthusiasm and vehicles queued outside the Grand Central Mall at Seawood and the Inorbit Mall at Vashi. To ensure strong planning, token numbers were given to vehicles at the entrance of the parking lot, and patients were registered according to the same after their details were checked. 

After being vaccinated, they were asked to wait under observation for half an hour in a specific area in the parking lot. Staff were deployed to monitor them during this  period. The vaccinated person was also instructed to horn in case of any problem.

As per reports, a total of 146 citizens were vaccinated until 5 pm, of which 80 were at the Grand Central Mall and 66 at Inorbit Mall.

Citizens also expressed satisfaction over the provision of this facility and mentioned that all the procedures like getting token number, registering for vaccination, getting vaccinated and waiting for half an hour for observation were being done without the hassle getting out of their vehicle.
