King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital in Parel will soon start an In-vitro Fertilisation (IVF). The clinic will be set up by the husband-wife duo Dr. Anjali and Dr. Aniruddha Malpani.
Notably, Dr. Anjali and Dr. Aniruddha have been ex-students of KEM Medical College and in order to help couples from poor economic backgrounds, they had approached the hospital administration to set up the clinic.

The IVF specialists will further contribute ₹75 lakhs- 1 crore to set up the clinic and help infertile couples who wouldn't have been able to afford IVF from private clinics. They have further signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to set up the facility.
IVF treatment costs ₹2-3 lakhs in the first phase at private clinics and KEM will provide the first phase for free. KEM is the only civic-run hospital to provide the facility in Mumbai.
