Mumbai and Pune are the only two districts that have administered at least one dose to over 100 per cent of the estimated adult population.

Less than five of the 36 districts in Maharashtra will be able to attain the target of 100 per cent first dose COVID-19 vaccination coverage before the end of the year, reports stated. Maharashtra has administered the first dose to 86 per cent of its population.

However, 22 districts are under that average. Mumbai and Pune are the only two districts that have administered at least one dose to over 100 per cent of the estimated adult population. Their numbers stand at 106 per cent and 103 per cent, respectively.

Apart from them, two other districts that could reach that stage are Bhandara and Sindhudurg that have administered the first dose to nearly 96 per cent of their eligible population, claimed narratives. To be able to achieve the number, Bhandara and Sindhudurg need to vaccinate, 37,000 and 26,000 respectively, in the coming 10 days.

Aggregately, 12.77 crore coronavirus vaccine doses have been given in Maharashtra since January. Form this, 7.87 crores are the first doses and 4.89 second doses. Moreover, according to accounts, 11 districts have attained over 90 per cent coverage.

On the other hand, five others have attained over 80 per cent coverage. Nearly 16 districts have coverage in the midst of 70 – 78 per cent.
