In the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak in the state, Environment and Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray stated that Mirage and ITC Hotel in Mumbai will be opening up to travellers for isolation. Travellers will have to compulsorily be isolated for a minimum of 24 hours on arrival in Mumbai.

Notably, in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that they have booked hotel near the airport I.e. Lemon Tree, IBIS and Red Fox and travellers to Delhi there will be in mandatory '14-day quarantine' in these. He further said that they have arranged sufficient beds if cases increase and hospitalisation is needed and the hotel bills will be paid by those who want better and luxury isolation during the quarantine.
There were rumours that the hotels owned by Cristiano Ronaldo will also be converted into hospitals for quarantine. However, Ronaldo's spokesperson has refuted the claims.

As of March 16, Maharashtra has reported 38 positive reports and the State Government is taking various measures to prevent it. Currently, Kasturba Hospital in Chinchpokli is a testing centre and the government is planning to set up a second testing centre at King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital in Parel.

More than a 100 beds have been arranged and kept in isolation wards at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, KB Bhabha Hospital in Bandra, KB Bhabha Municipal Hospital in Kurla and Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Care in Jogeshwari. Seven Hills Hospital too has prepared a 300-bed quarantine facility.
Additionally, 24 health teams consisting of six members are deployed at every ward to monitor patients who may show symptoms of Coronavirus. Two teams will be deployed at the international airport to monitor the situation around the clock. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope stated that another laboratory will be set up at KEM hospital in the next two days and new laboratories will also come up at JJ Hospital. Public places like theatre, swimming pools, parks, institutes etc. have been ordered to be shut down.
