Maharashtra has managed to fully vaccinate 45% of its adult population against COVID-19 as the vaccination pace is picking up in the state. However, the state's full vaccination proportion is lower than the national average of 49%.

On the other hand, Mumbai is ahead of all districts in Maharashtra as it has managed to fully vaccinate nearly 74% of its adult population.

On Thursday, December 2, Union health ministry officials said that due to the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign, single-dose coverage increased by 6.8% in Maharashtra, while in the country, it rose by nearly 6%. The country has inoculated 84.3% of the adult population with at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccination.

Apart from the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign, the fear of a surge in cases due to the Omicron variant has led to an increase in administrating vaccines.

Meanwhile, not all Mumbaikars will be fully vaccinated before February, as five lakh people have taken their first dose in November. If the gap between the two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine is not reduced, not everyone will be fully inoculated until next year.
