Patients coming for haemophilia treatment in hospitals have to move to different departments for various tests. Therefore, keeping in mind their suffering, KEM Hospital is providing Hemophilia patients with treatment and diagnosis under one roof, at one place. A Multidisciplinary Hemophilia Centre has been started at KEM Hospital every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 am. So the patients have got relief.


Factor 8 and Factor 9 play an important role in blood clotting in the human body. However, as these two elements are not present in haemophiliacs, they suffer from severe bleeding inside their body and get injured in their joints, brain and muscles. Due to this, the patient has to face a lot of trouble. Haemophilia is a genetic disease. 60% of patients are genetic, while 40% of patients have other causes.

At present, 20 thousand patients of haemophilia have been registered in the country. As the symptoms of this disease do not appear, this disease remains ignored. Therefore, 90 percent of patients with haemophilia are not registered. These patients who come to the hospital for treatment have to travel to different places for examination. Therefore, keeping in mind the trouble they will face, a multidisciplinary haemophilia centre has been started in KEM Hospital every Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 am. Due to this, if the patient gets guidance at one place, it will be easier to treat the patient further, said the founder of KEM Hospital, Dr. Sangeeta Rawat.


KEM receives an average of 300 outpatients every month. A large number of patients come from the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh along with Maharashtra. Treatment in private hospitals costs lakhs of rupees. This cost is not affordable for common people. However, this treatment is provided free of cost in KEM Hospital. Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Haematologist, Dental, General Surgeon, Laboratory Officers are working for Hemophilia patients in KEM Hospital.
