Considering the increasing number of patients, 16 new beds have been made available in the Intensive Care Unit of KEM Hospital, out of which eight beds have been given to the Department of Neurosurgery and eight beds to the Department of Neurophysiology. Along with this, the number of beds in the dialysis centre in the nephrology department has also been increased. So the patients waiting for blood purification will get relief. As a result, the problem of insufficient beds in the intensive care unit of KEM Hospital has been partially resolved.
A large number of patients come to KEM Hospital for treatment. However, the number of beds in the intensive care unit was insufficient compared to the number of patients. Keeping this in mind, 16 new beds have been made available in the Intensive Care Unit of the Neurology Department of KEM Hospital. Patients from the Department of Neurology were transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Medicine. However, now that a separate bed has been made available for the neurology department, it will help critical patients in the medical department to get an intensive care bed, informed Dr. KEM hospital founder Sangeeta Rawat.
The number of beds in the dialysis centre is 23 and the number of patients suffering from kidney disease is increasing day by day. The number of kidney failure patients is also increasing. Keeping this in mind, KEM Hospital has provided eight additional beds for patients coming for dialysis. Therefore, the number of beds in the dialysis centre of KEM Hospital has increased to 23. Earlier, 800 patients were treated annually in this department. However, due to these new beds, it will be possible to purify the blood of about 1500 patients.
