109 new COVID-19 cases were found in Navi Mumbai taking the caseload up to 56,490 while one person has lost their life.

Navi Mumbai reported 109 COVID-19 cases on Monday, March 8 talking the tally up to 56,490. While 53,824 people have made a complete recovery from this disease, one death has been reported and the death toll now stands at 1,130. At present 1,536 patients are undergoing treatment in Navi Mumbai. While the recovery rate is at 96 per cent.

On Monday, 22 new cases were found in Belapur, 11 in Nerul, 15 in Vashi, 13 in Turbhe, nine in Koparkhairane, 18 in Ghansoli and 21 in Airoli.

While, the recovered patients are 21 from Belapur, three from Nerul, 27 from Vashi, 21 from Turbhe, nine from Koparkhairane, 16 from Ghansoli, 13 from Airoli and two from Digha.

On Monday, March 8, Maharashtra recorded 8,744 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 22,28,471. Currently, there are 97,637 active cases in the state. With 9,068 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 20,77,112.

More than 22 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 52,500. While 4,41,702 persons are under home quarantine, 4,098 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 93.21 per cent, and 2.36 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 15,388 new cases, 16,596 recoveries and 77 deaths taking the tally up to 1,12,44,786 on Monday, March 8. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,08,99,394 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,57,930 in the country. At present, there are 1,87,462 active cases.
