Amol Kolhe tests positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP and popular actor Amol Kolhe has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) despite being administered with the vaccine. He took to Twitter to share the information about the same. Reports state that Kolhe is currently undergoing medical treatment as advised by a doctor. 

Sharing more information on his social media handle, he said that COVID-19 pandemic isn't over yet. He clarified that for the past two days, he was experiencing COVID-like symptoms, however, had taken both doses of the vaccine. He underwent an RT-PCR test for the same and the report showed positive results. His health is stable now and the treatment is in progress. 

All those who have come in contact with him have been asked to get tested for the virus. Moreover, all the events planned for the next few days have been either cancelled or postponed by his team. 

Currently, experts around the world have emphasised about the need for COVID-19 vaccine. Talks about the booster dose are being held across many states, however, the WHO, in a recently released statement informed that there is no need for a booster dose as of now. However, the rich nations across the world should currently focus on providing vaccines to the vulnerable nations as a responsibility towards managing the COVID-19 crisis. 

On the other hand, the United States has made necessary preparations for the booster dose as the number of delta variant cases have been on a rise.
