For the second day in a row, Mumbai registered five COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours. Owing to this, the death toll in the city rose to 19,604. From the aggregate deaths seen on Monday, June 27, four were over the age of 70 and one was over the age of 60. All of them reportedly suffered from comorbidities. 

However, in the midst of this, there was also a fall in the daily coronavirus numbers to 1,062 on Monday. This has taken the total toll to 11,08,433.

Similarly, Maharashtra on Monday registered 2,369 cases, in contrast to the 6,943 recorded seen a day earlier. These updates have pushed the state's numbers to 79,65,035, and 1,47,910 fatalities so far.

Likewise, India reported 11,793 fresh coronavirus cases and 27 deaths. With this, the active caseload is at 96,700. 

On the other hand, reports suggest that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) K/West ward has registered the foremost number of active coronavirus cases in the last few weeks. 

The ward office reportedly mentioned that the majority of the cases were seen amongst the age group going to offices. In accordance with the BMC's dashboard, between June 18 to June 24, the K/West ward saw 1,474 coronavirus cases with a doubling rate of 315 days.

Based on accounts, it is the only ward with a four-digit number of virus patients throughout all wards. Narratives add that most cases are from residential complexes in areas such as Juhu, Versova and Lokhandwala.

The BMC's dashboard data brings to light that between June 13-18 the K/West ward recorded the foremost cases across the 24 wards in BMC across Mumbai.

For those unversed, the K/West ward entails, Andheri (West), Juhu, part of Vile Parle (West) and Jogeshwari (West).
