The 'Stomach Disorders' outpatient department has been started from Wednesday at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Cooper Hospital. According to municipal sources, the number of patients suffering from various stomach disorders has been steadily increasing over the past few years. Given the urgent need for timely diagnosis and treatment, Cooper Hospital has decided to start an outpatient department specifically for stomach care.

Due to the current stressful lifestyle and changing dietary patterns, liver, stomach, and intestinal disorders are on the rise. Endoscopy will make it easier to diagnose these disorders. This service will definitely benefit needy patients. This outpatient department will also help postgraduate students improve their skills under the guidance of expert doctors. This is the first hospital in the eastern and western suburbs of the municipal corporation to offer such a service.

After the Western Suburbs Municipality started Cooper Hospital, various plans have been prepared for its expansion and its implementation is underway in a phased manner. Under the guidance of Additional Municipal Commissioner (Western Suburbs), as per the directions of Deputy Commissioner (Public Health) Sharad Ukde and as per the suggestions of Director Neelam Andrade, medical services at Cooper Hospital are being expanded. This new service has been implemented as part of that.

The outpatient department was inaugurated on Wednesday by Dr. Shailesh Mohite, Dean of Nair Hospital and member of the Cooper Hospital Supervisory Committee. Dr. Neelam Redkar, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Dean of Postgraduate Studies, followed up on the start of this department.
