Parel- A bunch of helium balloons that exploded in a freak accident during a birthday celebration inside the Wadia hospital in Parel injured four hospital employees . The Bhoiwada police have asked the hospital administration to initiate an inquiry into the incident and to take action against those responsible. The incident had been kept under wraps by the hospital administration for almost a week before the news leaked.
The incident took place last Friday, when a medicos' team was celebrating the birthday of Dr Mini Bodhanwala. Helium balloons had been brought in to add a festive air to the occasion. When crackers were burst, the sparks burst the balloons injuring four persons.
Those hurt included Harshada Satham, Nisha Kamble, Nivedita Gaikwad and Sadik Asari. While Sadik Ansari suffered 40 per cent burns, the three others suffered minor injuries and were allowed to go after treatment. Bhoiwada police are investigation the matter. Dr Bodhanwala refused to comment on the incident.
