COVID-19: Pune’s Recoveries Outpace New Cases For the Third Straight Day

Pune district recorded 1,185 new coronavirus cases and 1,482 recoveries on Wednesday, July 14. This marks the third straight day when the number of cases was surpassed by the number of recoveries. 

Officials revealed that the total COVID-19 recoveries in the district have now reached 10,39,168. The district recorded seven deaths on July 14.

Pune had a total of 9,632 active cases as of Wednesday. Among the 1,185 new cases reported on Wednesday, 513 are from Pune rural, 331 from PMC, 233 in the Pimpri Chinchwad region, and 108 in Civil Surgeon and Cantonment Board regions. The data was shared by the District Health Officer of Pune district, Dr Bhagwan Pawar.

Pune city is currently attending to 2,917 active COVID-19 cases with 227 of them being in a critical state. Officials said that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) conducted 8,099 tests on Wednesday.  

As for Maharashtra, the state recorded 6,067 recoveries on Wednesday, taking the tally to 59,44,801. Meanwhile, 170 COVID patients died across the state.

8,602 new cases were registered in Maharashtra on July 14. The state’s case fatality rate is at 2.04 per cent while the recovery rate stands at 96.17 per cent.
