Pune reported 196 new COVID-19 cases, 219 recoveries and one death on Sunday, February 7, taking the total number of cases up to 1,93,178. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 1,383 active cases while 1,87,020 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is at 4,775.

As many as 2,906 tests were conducted taking the total count to 10,50,567.

On Sunday, February 7, Maharashtra recorded 2,673 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,44,071. Currently, there are 35,948 active cases in the state. With 1,622 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,55,548.

More than 30 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,310. While 1,72,311 persons are under home quarantine, 1,979 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.67 per cent, and 2.51 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 11,831 new cases, 11,904 recoveries and 84 deaths taking the tally up to 1,08,38,194 on Sunday, February 7. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,05,34,505 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,55,080 in the country. At present, there are 1,48,609 active cases. According to the ICMR, 20,19,00,614 samples have been tested up to February 7. So far, 58,12,362 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
