Pune records over 600 new COVID-19 cases on February 21

634 new COVID-19 were found in Pune taking the caseload up to 1,97,964 while 294 people have completely recovered and discharged from the hospital.

Pune reported 634 new COVID-19 cases, 294 recoveries and five deaths on Sunday, February 21, taking the total number of cases up to 1,97,964. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 2,896 active cases while 1,90,242 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is 4,826.

 As many as 4,707 tests were conducted taking the total count to 10,99,134.

On Sunday, February 21, Maharashtra recorded 6,971 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 21,00,884. Currently, there are 52,956 active cases in the state. With 2,417 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,94,947.

More than 35 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,788. While 2,45,563 persons are under home quarantine, 1,732 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 94.96 per cent, and 2.47 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 14,199 new cases, 9,695 recoveries and 83 deaths taking the tally up to 1,10,05,850 on Sunday, February 21. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,06,99,410 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,56,385 in the country. At present, there are 1,50,055 active cases. So far, 1,11,16,854 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
