Pune reported 309 new COVID-19 cases, 272 recoveries and one death on Tuesday, February 16, taking the total number of cases up to 1,95,496. According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), there are 1,719 active cases while 1,88,975 patients have recovered so far. The death toll in Pune is at 4,802.

 As many as 2,620 tests were conducted taking the total count to 10,76,811.

On Tuesday, February 16, Maharashtra recorded 3,663 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,71,306. Currently, there are 37,125 active cases in the state. With 2,700 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,81,408.

More than 39 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,591. While 1,82,970 persons are under home quarantine, 1,726 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.66 per cent, and 2.49 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 11,610 new cases, 11,833 recoveries and 100 deaths taking the tally up to 1,09,37,320 on Tuesday, February 16. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,06,44,858 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,55,913 in the country. At present, there are 1,36,549 active cases. According to the ICMR, 20,79,77,229 samples have been tested up to February 16. So far, 89,99,230 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
