Thane: All women officers above 35 years in TMC will be given free health checkup every year

Women do not get enough time to pay attention to their health in the daily hectic life. Officers and women employees working in Thane Municipal Corporation are also doing daily civic welfare work. Female officers and employees of Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) unintentionally neglect their own health while doing public utility work. To build a good society, it is necessary to have strong and healthy officers and employees. In line with that, TMC Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has decided to conduct free health check-up and free health check-up for women officers and employees of TMC in order to get timely diagnosis of serious diseases that occur in women.

Around 74 percent of the world's population dies from noncommunicable diseases (eg, stroke, cancer, diabetes, hypertension). Therefore, the World Health Organization aims to prevent and control such diseases. Given the impact on the family members and the socio-economy, timely diagnosis and prompt treatment of such diseases is the primary need of the hour. Also, diabetes and blood pressure diseases are causing death in their daily life without the knowledge of the patients. Breast and ovarian cancer are more common in women. It is possible to eliminate these types of diseases by checking them. For this, women also need to take such tests seriously and carefully.

Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital founders have been directed to carry out free Sonomammography, Pap Smear, Blood Sugar Level, Blood Pressure, Oral Cancer screening for women officers and employees of Thane Municipal Corporation 35 years or above 35 years. Also, according to this, the work of diagnosing the above diseases will be started soon at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Medical College, Kalwa Thane.

Initially, fees were charged for sonomammography and blood test through Thane Municipal Corporation, but now all these tests will be conducted free of charge for the female officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation and henceforth this scheme will be continued for the female officers and employees of the Municipal Corporation.
