Thane reported 471 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths on Friday, February 19, taking the total number of cases in the district up to 2,59,668. There are 3,875 active cases and 2,49,566 patients have completely recovered so far.

The death toll in Thane has now reached 6,227 in the district with eight new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. While the recovery rate stands at 96.11 per cent while the mortality rate is 2.40 per cent.

As many as 45,646 COVID-19 cases and 1,202 deaths were reported in Palghar district.

On Friday, February 19, Maharashtra recorded 6,112 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus. This propelled the state's COVID-19 tally to 20,87,632. Currently, there are 44,765 active cases in the state. With 2,159 COVID-19 patients discharged in the day, the number of recovered soared to 19,89,963.

More than 44 people from the state have lost their lives to this disease in the last 24 hours while the total has now mounted to 51,713. While 2,24,087 persons are under home quarantine, 1,588 others have been admitted to institutional quarantine centres. The COVID-19 recovery rate and fatality rate in the state stand at 95.32 per cent, and 2.48 per cent respectively.

Meanwhile, India reported 13,993 new cases, 10,307 recoveries and 101 deaths taking the tally up to 1,09,77,387 on Friday, February 19. According to the data by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in total 1,06,78,048 have completely recovered. The death toll is at 1,56,212 in the country. At present, there are 1,43,127 active cases. So far, 1,07,15,204 healthcare workers have been vaccinated in the country.
