Three year old Aradhya awaits heart donor

Mumbai: 3-year- old  Aradhya, is suffering from a heart disease - dilated cardiomyopathy and needs a heart donor. Aradhya's parents got to know about the disease last April. She has been on medicines since then. Following their doctor's advice, the family has now registered her for a heart transplant.

Aaradhya's blood type is A -ve and she visits the Fortis hospital regularly for treatment. Her heart beat was 25% last April and now it has come down to 10-11%. Aradhya who weighs 13 kilos, knows she is ill but is too young to understand the seriousness of her situation.

Her doctor Dr. Sanjay Mane, cardiologist at Fortis hospital said Aradhya needs to weigh at least 30-40 kilos to be eligible for a successful heart transplant. Meanwhile, she takes her medicine eight times a day but still continues to charm everyone with her smiles.
