Based on the data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a total of 570 patients tested positive for COVID-19 on October 3, 2021, Sunday in the Greater Mumbai area. The number of positive patients who recovered and were discharged was 564. Additionally, the progressive total active patients in the city now stand at 4714.

Moreover, three fatalities were also reported on Sunday, all of whom had comorbidities and were over the age of 60. Whilst one patient was male, the other two were female. The total number of tests done stands at 41,044.

The recovery rate of Mumbai is at 97% and the overall growth rate of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai from September 26 and October 2 is 0.06%. The doubling rate, on the other hand, is 1187 days. Based on the containment measures taken on October 2, there continue to be zero active containment zones in the city. There are, however, 39 active sealed buildings in the island city. Furthermore, the high-risk contact tracing undertaken in the last 24 hours is 2,033.

In other developments, families of those who lost their lives to COVID-19 will attain assistance worth Rs 50,000. The same was informed to the Supreme Court.
