Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India TB free by 2025. Accordingly, various activities are being implemented by the health department to make Maharashtra free from tuberculosis. The Health Department has taken up a Tuberculosis Free Panchayat campaign.


This campaign started from Raigad on Saturday. The campaign was launched in the presence of Dheeraj Kumar, Commissioner of Directorate of Health Services. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced to make India TB free by 2025. Accordingly, a tuberculosis free campaign is being implemented in one thousand panchayats of the country.

The 'Tuberculosis Free Panchayat' campaign is starting from Raigad district in Maharashtra and initially this campaign will be implemented in 10 villages. In this, nearly 10 thousand citizens will be examined through this campaign. Emphasis will be placed on the diagnosis, treatment and eradication of tuberculosis patients. Dheeraj Kumar, Commissioner of Directorate of Health Services informed that after the success of the 'Tuberculosis Free Panchayat' campaign in Raigad, it will be implemented in the entire state.
