Two architects, Hafeez Contractor and P K Das have signed up for a pro bono work to design 19 stations across India for free. In Mumbai, the duo has shown interest in Dadar, Parel, Wadala, Bandra, and Khar.

Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) is the nodal agency for redeveloping 600 stations while Contractor and Das were among four who had offered to design the stations.

Sanjeev Lohia, MD, and CEO of IRSDC said that they had an open invitation for professionals to work for public good for developing concepts and master plans for the redevelopment of stations. Hafeez Contractor offered to design 19 stations, saying that the offer was his way of helping his country.
